We are currently accepting applications from students who are looking to complete a 12 month placement as part of a Business, Marketing or Construction related degree (other subjects may be considered) ; the placement will be within our Research, Analysis and Forecasting Team. Commencing summer 2017, for a period of up to 12 months. Successful candidates will be contacted after the closing date of 28th April 2017, with first stage interviews taking place end of May 2017. The Research, Analysis and Forecasting team is responsible for providing a deep understanding of trends within the construction industry to guide the wider business. The placement will work closely with the Market Research Coordinator and others in the team, to help research these areas and summarise the key findings.

The Research, Analysis and Forecasting team is responsible for providing a deep understanding of trends within the construction industry to guide the wider business. The placement will work closely with the Market Research Coordinator and others in the team, to help research these areas and summarise the key findings.

 

The role:

 To contribute towards Identifying and reporting on current and emerging initiatives and activities within the construction industry.

Assist with qualitative and quantitative research projects to enhance our knowledge and understanding of the construction industry.

This will typically include: desktop research, assisting with customer research groups, report writing, reviewing and suggesting changes to questionnaires

Analysing qualitative data and producing charts and reports in Microsoft Excel

Monitor the adoption and use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the UK construction industry.

Identify ways in which RIBA Enterprises can assist those in or recently coming from education, with their information needs.

 

The candidate:

 Will be a student carrying out a placement during their relevant degree, either Business,  Marketing or Construction  (other subjects maybe considered) 

Be able to demonstrate basic ability in research techniques, with an emphasis on  strong numerical skills

Have the ability to analyse and interpret data and draw provisional conclusions and to present findings and make recommendations

Will be an enthusiastic team player with the ability to adapt to change, who can develop relationships and work effectively with the team, company and wider industry

Hold basic report writing skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic knowledge of contemporary change in construction technology, such as BIM is desirable
