New Non-Executive Board Member - RIBA Enterprises

RIBA Enterprises is currently seeking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to join the RIBAE Board in September 2010. The post is for a RIBA chartered member and is for an initial term of three years.

RIBA Enterprises is the commercial arm of the RIBA. Profits on operations are provided to the RIBA Group through Gift Aid. In 2009, turnover was just under £20m with profits of £2.9m. With approx 250 staff, RIBAE has offices in London (near Moorgate), Newark and Newcastle. Operating in eight distinct business areas, the Company enjoys an unrivalled position in providing high quality products and services to the industry. The diverse range of services range from Retail (RIBA Publishing and RIBA Bookshops) and Recruitment (RIBA Appointments), to Advertising (RIBA Product Selector) and to Specification/Information products (NBS and a joint venture with IHS). Our recent acquisition of online Learning Channels provides a new business opportunity for developing the skills and expertise of the industry at large.

The RIBAE Board holds five meetings a year, one of which is in Newcastle (either in September or November). Board members are usually asked to contribute to other activities of the Company through attendance at Board Committees and representation at RIBA Group meetings.

The posts are unremunerated although expenses will be paid. An information pack is available.
